Janice Donato was born in Montreal, Quebec and has been involved with art in one form or another since then. She did Fine Arts at John Abbott College in Ste. Anne de Bellevue, then Illustration and Design at Dawson College in Montreal, and is currently studying at Corcordia University. She worked as a technical illustrator until her two sons were born, then worked from home as a a children's book illustrator, technical and computer illustrator.

Janice has illustrated several books, including Jane Barclay's "How Hot Was It?" and "How Cold Was It?" which are Canadian

bestsellers. She has been painting murals for nearly twenty-five years now and decorative wall painting techniques for the last ten years. As Janice puts it, "Paint has the power to transform environments."
